A Beautiful opaque Ruby Pendant Necklace with silver!
WHAT IS IT?
A simple pendant with a single precious ruby is easy to wear, day and night! Our Precious Gem necklaces in ruby, emerald, sapphires, and chalcedony, are very pretty, a reasonable price, and are real precious gemstones you can wear every day! It makes a nice gift for your wife, girlfriend, friend, sister, daughter!
We love these deep dark blue sapphires for their natural color and opacity, which is how they look straight from the mines of India, South East Asia and Africa. What we find particularly fun about them is that they are more raw and closer to nature so you know you are getting a real true blue natural sapphire. Our sapphires are completely natural, with all of nature's beauty and imperfections.
SIZE AND SPECS
Choose your Necklace Length in Options: 16" (40.6cm), 18" (45.7cm), or 20" (50.8cm).
The chain is Sterling Silver double rope finished with a Sterling Silver lobster claw clasp. Each ruby is genuine, unique, approx. 5/16"-3/8" (8-10mm), and bezel-set by hand, in Sterling Silver. Rhodium, a relative of Platinum, keeps the Sterling Silver shining bright, with no tarnishing. A "Bezel Setting" is a metal rim that encircles the sides of a stone and holds it securely.
WHY RUBIES?
In ancient Sanskrit, ruby is called "ratnaraj," the King of Gemstones. Rubies are mentioned four times in the Bible, associated with attributes like beauty and wisdom. In the first century AD, the Roman scholar Pliny included rubies in his Natural History, describing their hardness and density. Ancient Hindus believed that those who offered fine rubies to the god Krishna were granted rebirth as emperors. Ruby retained its importance with the birth of the western world and remains one of the most sought-after gems of European royalty and the upper classes.
