This bracelet design was inspired by my work and travels there where rubies hold a special place of honor in both the fashion and the culture. According to the International Colored Gemstone Association (ICA), the Sanskrit word for ruby is "ratnaraj," which roughly translated means, "King of the Gemstones." Indian literature from more than two thousand years back tells us that whenever a particularly beautiful ruby crystal was discovered, the ruler would send a royal party of dignitaries to greet and welcome the newly found precious gem.Rubies are one of the four “precious” gemstones (along with Diamond, Emerald and Sapphire), rare and valuable in any form.
