Tiny genuine faceted Rough Finished Ruby pendant (approximately 5 mm/0.196 inch) threaded on a delicate Sterling Silver chain, with a tiny white pearl added to the clasp.

PLEASE NOTE - These faceted Ruby at this grade are NOT perfect cut!! I love this gemstone and the natural rough look of the stone that makes it so unique and different then clear glass! Some are darker than others and some are more ruby red in variety of shades, size and shape. I choose the stone randomly!

As the Ruby is a difficult gemstone to work with, they might have small scratches and natural tiny crystal, brown/ black droplet or bubble within the stone!!!

This natural uncut rough ruby is set in a sterling silver handmade bezel setting and textured artisan disc pendant. The pendant has been oxidized with a light patina to accent the textures. The natural uncut ruby measures approximately 6.5 x 8 mm; the overall size of the pendant is approximately 20mm (just over 3/4") in width and 23mm (approximately 1") in length. GOLD FILLED is an actual layer of gold, pressure bonded to another metal. Gold filled is not to be confused with gold plating, as filled literally has 100% more gold than gold plating. Gold filled is much more valuable and tarnish resistant. Gold filled jewelry is an economical alternative to solid gold!

STERLING SILVER is 92.5% pure silver with some base metal for strength.

FINE SILVER from the Thai Karen Hill Tribe is 97-99% pure silver, a little softer than sterling but very tarnish resistant.

As with other precious metals it is recommended to remove Argentium silver jewelry before entering chlorinated or salt-water swimming baths/jacuzzi's and before carrying out practices where Argentium silver could come into contact with chemicals such as applying hand cream or washing hair. If this is not done there is the possibility of the Argentium silver reacting with these chemicals.

The earrings dangle approx. 1-1/8" long (28.6mm), within hand-oxidized Sterling Silver bezels and Ear Wires. The stones are approx. 5/8" long (16mm), bezel set in oxidized Sterling Silver. A "Bezel Setting" is a metal rim that encircles the sides of a stone and holds it securely.

Ruby Mobius Stud Sterling Silver Earrings - July Birthstone s15e058

Art and mathematics are beautiful together. I made these earrings to be like Moebius band. A Moebius band is a mathematical construct - a one-sided continuous surface - a lovely representation of eternity.

I made these earrings using traditional metalsmithing techniques. Each earring has a single tube-set 3mm faceted round ruby gemstone at the top. The ruby stones are natural, untreated, grade A, and they are a beautiful red color. These natural ruby stones are a bit cloudy (included), as seen in the photos. I've given the earrings a beautiful polish to show off the subtle twist.

You may alternatively select these earrings with synthetic (manmade) ruby gemstones. Synthetic ruby has the same chemistry and crystal structure as natural ruby, but is available at a lower cost. The lab-grown ruby is a fuchsia red color.

The earrings measure about 3/8 inch (9mm) wide. The ear posts and ear nuts are also solid sterling silver.

I can make these earrings with other gemstones or in karat gold; please contact me for a quote.
