Art and mathematics are beautiful together. I made these earrings to be like Moebius band. A Moebius band is a mathematical construct - a one-sided continuous surface - a lovely representation of eternity.
I made these earrings using traditional metalsmithing techniques. Each earring has a single tube-set 3mm faceted round ruby gemstone at the top. The ruby stones are natural, untreated, grade A, and they are a beautiful red color. These natural ruby stones are a bit cloudy (included), as seen in the photos. I've given the earrings a beautiful polish to show off the subtle twist.
You may alternatively select these earrings with synthetic (manmade) ruby gemstones. Synthetic ruby has the same chemistry and crystal structure as natural ruby, but is available at a lower cost. The lab-grown ruby is a fuchsia red color.
The earrings measure about 3/8 inch (9mm) wide. The ear posts and ear nuts are also solid sterling silver.
